The DCB Performance Boats Regatta on Arizona’s Lake Havasu managed to top itself yet again. Somehow the late-September event, which brought together customers from all over the country as well as Canada, keeps getting better and better each year. That’s not just DCB boasting, it’s the customers—our family—who keep telling us that.
The consensus was that the weekend was relaxing, stress-free and welcoming to any and all DCB owners. With boats ranging from classic 22-footers to the new 35- and 41-foot cats, all that mattered during the two-day event were the initials on the side of the boats.
According to DCB’s Tony Chiaramonte, who handled some of the MC duties, the regatta went about as well as it could have—maybe event better. Along with DCB’s Rob Blair, Dave and Lynn Hemmingson, Paul Miller, Eric Winebarger and the rest of the hard-working crew, Chiaramonte honored DCB owner Charlie Brown of Lake Chelan, Wash., as the company’s “Customer of the Year.”
Brown’s enthusiasm and dedication for the brand didn’t go unnoticed by everyone at DCB. The owner of an orange M35 with twin Mercury Racing 1350 engines, Brown said he had a great time at the event, which was held at the Nautical Beachfront Resort (http://nauticalinn.com) and applauded the people at DCB for going out of their way to give back to their customers.
“The regatta was different for me this year because, after two years of owning a DCB, I felt like I knew everyone and that made it much more fun for me,” said Brown, who attended the regatta with his wife, Tracey, brother, Mark, nephew, Seth, Seth’s girlfriend, Alex, and his good friends, Patty McCabe and Kermit McClellan. “Peggi improves the event each year with meticulous planning and organization, and the entire DCB team is there to help us with our boats and logistics. Of course Dave is always right on with his appreciation of everyone when he gets the microphone.”
So what did the recognition mean to Brown?
“Beyond total surprise and shock, I was honored that DCB would recognize me as Customer of the Year,” he said. “It was a great performance boating year for me and I was fortunate enough to be in attendance at many of the West Coast events and host a bunch of folks up at my home on Lake Chelan. My boat being solid orange is usually noticed when it’s at an event! We all like to be appreciated, so thanks much to DCB for the recognition.”
